Daffodil Project

Bowl made from 100% waste from Cornish daffodil fields

Daffodils have been grown in Cornwall for well over a hundred years. For various reasons, sometimes the flowers are not picked and instead the leaves and stems shrivel back and are left in the field to decompose.

Visiting the same field in far, West Cornwall I started to harvest these dried, discarded stems. As the weeks turned to months I started to explore them as a material and create beautiful objects with them.

This is an on-going project exploring the natural, ‘waste’ materials left in the cultivated daffodil fields to create sustainable, zero-waste objects and bowls. Want to learn how to make cordage (string) from plants? I run short workshops on Wild Cordage Making and How to Make a Bowl or Pot from Plants.
